Can account of children be opened (Minor accounts)?

Modified on Tue, 27 Aug, 2019 at 11:13 AM

As per Muluki Ain, individuals below the age of 18 are considered as minor. Since a minor is incapable of signing any contracts or any kind of legal documents, minor accounts are opened in the name of minor upon the request of his/her guardian. Guardian of such minor is Father or Mother of the minor or the guardian as certified by District Administration Office (CSO Office). To open a minor account, you need to present minor’s birth registration certificate or minor identity card (certified by CSO), citizenship card of the guardian and 2 recent passport size photos each.
